Calendar

The FIS Men Full-Time Team operates on a year-round schedule, including summer camps, fall preparation, and a full winter race season.

Athletes compete in a high-volume calendar of FIS events, with opportunities for NorAm starts and national-level competitions. Travel is a significant component of the program, with race schedules tailored to athlete goals and performance progression.

A detailed calendar outlining training blocks, camps, and race schedules is provided and adjusted throughout the season.

Volunteer Requirements

Points Required: 160

SSCV relies heavily upon the generosity of hundreds of volunteers who give thousands of hours to help with competitions, fundraising and various Club tasks and events. Volunteer points are earned by completing volunteer jobs, and these jobs are assigned a specific number of points based upon difficulty and time needed for completion. SSCV requires each family to complete a predetermined amount of volunteering based upon the programs in which they are involved. The number of points required per family is based upon the athlete’s program (and in the case of multiple athletes, it will be the program in which the most time-committed athlete participates).

There are numerous opportunities, both on and off the snow, throughout the year from May 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027. Opportunities will be shared with families via email as they arise.

Failure to meet your obligation could result in an evaluation of your family’s fit with the program and SSCV culture of volunteerism.

Facilities + Technical Support

Training is based primarily at Golden Peak, one of the premier alpine training venues in North America.

Athletes benefit from early-season snowmaking, high-volume gate training, and access to varied terrain. Additional domestic and international camps provide exposure to diverse conditions and high-level competition environments.

Strength Training

At the FIS level, performance optimization is critical. Athletes work closely with SSCV Technical Services to ensure equipment is dialed for varying snow conditions and race demands.

Strength and conditioning are fully integrated through SSCV’s Human Performance Program. Athletes follow individualized, periodized training plans focused on strength, power, mobility, and injury prevention. This comprehensive approach supports peak performance throughout the season and long-term athletic success.
