Volunteering at SSCV

Volunteering is at the heart of Ski & Snowboard Club Vail and plays a critical role in everything we do. As a nonprofit organization, SSCV relies on the time, energy, and commitment of families and community members to support competitions, events, and daily operations.

From race days and training support to fundraising events and behind-the-scenes coordination, volunteers help create the environment that allows our athletes to train, compete, and grow. Their involvement not only supports the club operationally, but also strengthens the sense of community that defines SSCV.

Volunteering is more than a requirement—it’s an opportunity to be directly involved in your athlete’s experience and contribute to the success of the entire program.

Non-Member Volunteer Opportunities

You don’t have to be an SSCV family to get involved. Ski & Snowboard Club Vail welcomes community members who are interested in supporting local youth athletes and club events through volunteering.

Non-member volunteers play an important role in helping deliver high-quality competitions, events, and fundraising efforts throughout the year. Opportunities are available both on and off the snow and may include race support, event setup, hospitality, and general event operations.

No prior experience is required for most roles—just a willingness to help and be part of the SSCV community. All volunteers are required to complete a volunteer waiver prior to participation.

If you’re interested in getting involved, we encourage you to reach out and join us in supporting the next generation of athletes.

Member Volunteer Requirements

As the oldest nonprofit in the Vail Valley, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail relies heavily on the generosity of hundreds of volunteers who give thousands of hours to help with competitions, fundraising and various club tasks and events. SSCV cannot exist without the incredible support and dedication of all our members and friends. The work and dedication of our volunteers is essential to SSCV’s ability to host events and offer quality programming at the most affordable cost possible.

For these reasons SSCV requires all families to complete a predetermined amount of volunteering through various duties/jobs during the period of June 1, 2023, through May 31, 2024. There are numerous opportunities both on and off the snow throughout the year. Click here or on the “Volunteer Requirements” button below for the current volunteer point requirements by program. The number of points required per family is based upon the athlete’s program (if your family has multiple athletes, your requirement will be that of the program with the highst number of points). Your volunteer point family balance (established after registration) and sign-ups for volunteer opportunities are accessed via your MySSCV account.

For more information on your volunteer requirement, point balances and on-snow volunteer opportunities, please contact SSCV Club Manager Land Collioure Le Coq at llecoq@skiclubvail.org. For more information about off-snow volunteer activities, please contact Development & Events Manager Liz Filipowicz at lfilipowicz@skiclubvail.org.

Please note that failure to meet your obligation could result in an re-evaluation of your family’s fit with the program and SSCV’s culture of volunteerism.

If you’re interested in getting involved, we encourage you to reach out and join us in supporting the next generation of athletes.
