Moguls

Mogul Bumps & Jumps 3 Day Program

Mogul Bumps & Jumps 3 Day is designed for athletes who are ready for a more consistent and engaged training experience in mogul skiing. With three days on snow each week, athletes build strong foundational skills while accelerating progression through increased repetition and structured coaching.

Athletes continue to refine mogul fundamentals, including balance, rhythm, and control, while advancing their jumping skills in a safe and progressive environment. Training includes drills, freeskiing, and structured aerial development, helping athletes build confidence and fluidity across varied terrain.

This program represents the highest level within the Bumps & Jumps pathway and prepares athletes for progression into full-time mogul programs.

Calendar

The Mogul Bumps & Jumps 3 Day program runs during the winter season, typically from November through March, with training held three days per week, including weekends and select weekdays or holidays.

The increased training schedule allows athletes to develop consistency, improve endurance, and accelerate progression in both moguls and jumping. A detailed calendar outlining training sessions and key program dates is provided prior to the season.

Volunteer Requirements

Points Required: 160

SSCV relies heavily upon the generosity of hundreds of volunteers who give thousands of hours to help with competitions, fundraising and various Club tasks and events. Volunteer points are earned by completing volunteer jobs, and these jobs are assigned a specific number of points based upon difficulty and time needed for completion. SSCV requires each family to complete a predetermined amount of volunteering based upon the programs in which they are involved. The number of points required per family is based upon the athlete’s program (and in the case of multiple athletes, it will be the program in which the most time-committed athlete participates).

There are numerous opportunities, both on and off the snow, throughout the year from May 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027. Opportunities will be shared with families via email as they arise.

Failure to meet your obligation could result in an evaluation of your family’s fit with the program and SSCV culture of volunteerism.

Facilities + Technical Support

Training takes place on Vail Mountain, utilizing terrain that supports mogul development, including bump runs and freestyle features for aerial progression.

Athletes may also train at Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy, where controlled environments support consistent skill development and safe aerial progression.

Strength Training

With increased training volume, athletes develop stronger movement patterns, rhythm, and body awareness. Emphasis is placed on consistency in moguls and progression in jumping.

Off-snow development remains age-appropriate but begins to incorporate more structured elements of coordination, agility, and strength to support increased time on snow and physical demands.
