Alpine FIS Full Time Program

The Alpine FIS Full-Time Team is designed for athletes pursuing high-level competition and long-term development within the sport of alpine skiing. This program provides a fully integrated training environment focused on technical mastery, race performance, and progression through the national and international competition pathway.

Athletes train year-round with a comprehensive approach that includes on-snow training, physical conditioning, and competition planning. The program emphasizes discipline-specific development in slalom, giant slalom, super-G, and downhill, while building the habits and mindset required to compete at the highest levels.

Calendar

The FIS Full-Time Team operates on a year-round schedule, including summer camps, fall preparation periods, and a full winter competition season.

Athletes participate in a high-volume competition calendar that includes regional, national, and international FIS races. Travel is a significant component of the program, with competition schedules tailored to athlete development and performance goals.

A detailed calendar outlining training blocks, camps, race schedules, and travel is provided prior to each phase of the season.

Volunteer Requirements

Points Required: 160

SSCV relies heavily upon the generosity of hundreds of volunteers who give thousands of hours to help with competitions, fundraising and various Club tasks and events. Volunteer points are earned by completing volunteer jobs, and these jobs are assigned a specific number of points based upon difficulty and time needed for completion. SSCV requires each family to complete a predetermined amount of volunteering based upon the programs in which they are involved. The number of points required per family is based upon the athlete’s program (and in the case of multiple athletes, it will be the program in which the most time-committed athlete participates).

There are numerous opportunities, both on and off the snow, throughout the year from May 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027. Opportunities will be shared with families via email as they arise.

Failure to meet your obligation could result in an evaluation of your family’s fit with the program and SSCV culture of volunteerism.

Facilities + Technical Support

Training is based primarily at Golden Peak, providing athletes with access to one of the premier alpine training venues in North America.

Athletes benefit from early-season snowmaking, high-volume gate training, and access to varied terrain. Additional training opportunities may include domestic and international camps to ensure exposure to diverse conditions and high-level environments.

Strength Training

At the FIS level, equipment preparation and performance are critical components of success. Athletes work closely with SSCV Technical Services to ensure skis are tuned and optimized for varying snow conditions and competition demands.

Strength and conditioning are fully integrated into the program through SSCV’s Human Performance Program. Athletes follow structured, periodized training plans focused on strength, power, mobility, and injury prevention. This comprehensive approach supports peak performance throughout the competition season and long-term athletic development.
