Snowboard Youth Weekend 3 Day Program

Snowboard Youth Weekend 3 Day is designed for athletes who are ready to take the next step in their snowboarding progression with increased time on snow and a more structured training environment. This program focuses on building well-rounded riders through a balance of all-mountain development and introduction to freestyle progression.

Athletes continue to refine core snowboard skills while expanding into more challenging terrain and conditions. Training may include a mix of groomers, bumps, trees, and terrain park features, allowing athletes to build confidence, versatility, and control across the mountain.

With three days of training each week, athletes gain the consistency and repetition needed to accelerate progression while remaining in a fun and supportive team environment.

Volunteer Requirements

Points Required: 160

SSCV relies heavily upon the generosity of hundreds of volunteers who give thousands of hours to help with competitions, fundraising and various Club tasks and events. Volunteer points are earned by completing volunteer jobs, and these jobs are assigned a specific number of points based upon difficulty and time needed for completion. SSCV requires each family to complete a predetermined amount of volunteering based upon the programs in which they are involved. The number of points required per family is based upon the athlete’s program (and in the case of multiple athletes, it will be the program in which the most time-committed athlete participates).

There are numerous opportunities, both on and off the snow, throughout the year from May 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027. Opportunities will be shared with families via email as they arise.

Failure to meet your obligation could result in an evaluation of your family’s fit with the program and SSCV culture of volunteerism.

Facilities + Technical Support

Training takes place on Vail Mountain, utilizing a wide range of terrain including groomers, bumps, trees, and terrain park features to support well-rounded rider development.

Athletes may also train at Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy, including access to progression-based terrain and training features when appropriate.

Strength Training

At this stage, athletes begin to develop more consistent riding habits and stronger movement patterns. Emphasis is placed on control, versatility, and progression across different terrain types.

Off-snow development includes coordination, balance, and strength in an age-appropriate format. This supports increased time on snow and prepares athletes for more advanced training environments.

Athletes are also introduced to equipment awareness and proper setup to support performance and safety.
