Alpine

Alpine U16 Men’s and Women’s Full-Time Team

The U16 Alpine program is for qualified athletes born in 2010 or 2011 who want to pursue an aggressive racing program. As part of this year-round program, athletes begin their training in May preparing for the season ahead. The conditioning component generally meets three to four times per week depending on the time of year, as calendared. The on-snow training generally occurs five days a week beginning in late October, when conditions allow, as calendared.

Athletes on the U16 Teams train for their focus race series, the Sync Cup, with opportunities for out-of-division racing for qualified athletes. Travel to away races will be organized by staff, and athletes will be expected to travel as a team. Athletes can expect regular video access and review, as well as strength and conditioning screenings. An informational meeting will be conducted so that parents and athletes are able to meet their coaches, be introduced to the training and race calendar, and develop an understanding of their program. Families can expect regular communication.

Volunteer Requirements
Point Requirements: 160

SSCV relies heavily upon the generosity of hundreds of volunteers who give thousands of hours to help with competitions, fundraising and various Club tasks and events. Volunteer points are earned by completing volunteer jobs, and these jobs are assigned a specific number of points based upon difficulty and time needed for completion. SSCV requires each family to complete a predetermined amount of volunteering based upon the programs in which they are involved. The number of points required per family is based upon the athlete’s program (and in the case of multiple athletes, it will be the program in which the most time-committed athlete participates).

There are numerous opportunities, both on and off the snow, throughout the year from May 1, 2026 – April 30, 2027. Opportunities will be shared with families via email as they arise.

Failure to meet your obligation could result in an evaluation of your family’s fit with the program and SSCV culture of volunteerism.
