Freeski Rookie Teams (1, 2, or 3 day) | Ages 6-12

The Rookie Team has a one, two, and three day option.  This program is designed to provide young rookie athletes with an introduction to the park and pipe and/or all mountain freeskiing. Coaches will focus on a variety of skiing skills, with particular attention being dedicated to areas such as fundamentals like carving, jumping, body and air awareness and park and pipe skill development. Depending on the day, we could head out to tackle the whole mountain for skiing, delve into the park and pipe environment, stop at natural and manmade terrain features, or bump down some moguls. We will also have an off-snow evening – in our trampoline facility – one night per week.

Freeski Rookie Team One Day – Saturdays: This is a Saturday program plus some bonus days (see below under Freeski Rookie Team Details). We will focus on a well-rounded skier, foster competition exposure, provide access to our trampoline facility and have a lot of fun. Many athletes in this program attend various local competitions, get the spark, and move up to a two- or three-day per week program.

Freeski Rookie Team Two Day – Saturday and Sunday: This is a Saturday and Sunday program plus some bonus days (see below under Freeski Rookie Team Details). Often athletes choose this two-day option for their second year with the SSCV Rookie Team. We will focus on developing a well-rounded skier and encourage competition at USASA Rocky Mountain Series or the IFSA Big Mountain regional competitions. We will provide access to our trampoline facility and have a ton of fun!

Freeski Rookie Team Three Day – Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday –  This is the Saturday and Sunday program plus Friday afternoon and some bonus days (see below under Freeski Rookie Team Details). We will continue to focus on a well-rounded skier and specific skills development. This program is designed for younger athletes hoping to bring their skills to the next level and is a great pipeline to the full-time 4 day a week and full-time middle school programs. We will provide access to our trampoline facility and have a ton of fun!
