In an effort to be good neighbors as well as supporting the need to minimize traffic congestion on Vail Valley Drive, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail has adopted the following procedures for drop off and pick up of athletes.
Important notes
- On high impact days, weekends and holidays, program start and ending times will be staggered to allow a consistent flow of traffic through the Clubhouse driveway.
- Enter Vail Valley Drive from the East. Please drive to the golf course bridge, turn south and proceed to the club via Vail Valley Drive going west. We will have traffic directors that will make sure you have no issue turning left into the clubhouse parking lot. We also ask that you exit the parking lot and follow Vail Valley Drive back east after you have dropped off or picked up your children. Please be sure to obey the speed limits through the neighborhood.
- Dropping off at the Gold Peak Lodge or Children’s Center is NEVER an option. Using those areas for pick up and drop off is not allowed by Vail Resorts, the Town of Vail and reflects poorly on SSCV.
- One exception is too many. Daily many cars are left in the drop off/ pick up zone while parent’s “run inside real quick”. Please note the following suggestions to make necessary trips inside.
- Are you aware that pay parking in Vail is free for the 1st two hours? Drop off the kids, park in a Town of Vail parking area and return to the clubhouse on foot.
- Conduct your business between 9:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m. Please be mindful that the SSCV lot remains a loading and unloading zone all day long through the winter and keep your visits as short as possible.
- Use the two adult method where one parent hops out while the other exits the parking lot and then returns a few minutes later to pick the 1st adult up.
Drop Off Procedure
- Enter Vail Valley Dr. from the East (Golf Course)
- Enter the Clubhouse using the 2nd entrance (west entrance)
- Follow the direction of the staff wearing orange vests.
- Pull as far forward as possible.
- Unload athletes and gear quickly
- If you must help carry equipment leave your keys in the ignition
- Once athletes are unloaded use the West Exit back onto Vail Valley Dr.
- Turn right, East, onto Vail Valley Drive
- Drive safe
Pick up procedure
- Enter Vail Valley Dr. from the East (Golf Course)
- Enter the Clubhouse using the 2nd entrance (west entrance)
- Follow the direction of the staff wearing orange vests.
- Pull as far forward as possible.
- Remain with your vehicle
- Staff/coaches will locate athletes and assist in loading vehicle
- Once athletes are loaded use the West Exit back onto Vail Valley Dr.
- Turn right, East, onto Vail Valley Drive
- Drive safe
Your assistance with these last few details will help speed your drive to the clubhouse every day. It will put less cars in the traffic jam west of the clubhouse and will allow SSCV to contribute significantly to solving the congestion issues along Vail Valley Drive.
During the ski season there is no parking available at Ski and Snowboard Club Vail at any time.
All parking in the SSCV parking lot is by permit only. In special circumstances, a parking permit may be issued by the SSCV Member Services Manager or Executive Director. Unauthorized vehicles may be booted and a fine imposed.
