SSCV/VSSA Academic Coaches – full time

Academic coaches are employees of Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) and support students at Vail Ski and Snowboard Academy (VSSA). Academic coaches are employed from approximately mid-August to early-June to mirror the VSSA calendar. VSSA Academic Coaches report to the SSCV Advancement Manager and actively collaborate with VSSA public school teachers, principal and assistant principal, along with SSCV Director of Advancement, program directors and coaches.

Full Job Description

SSCV/RSES Program Coordinator – part time

The four day a week full-time programs are the first impression that SSCV parents and athletes have of an SSCV full-time program that includes an academic support component from an SSCV Academic Partner. The SSCV/RSES Program Coordinator has the ability to establish a long term relationship between SSCV, its Academic Partner Red Sandstone Elementary School, parents, coaches and the student athlete starting as young as 2nd grade and continuing through high school graduation. This relationship will enable the student athlete to thrive academically alongside their full-time athletics and carry the lessons learned into college, career and beyond.

Full Job Description

YSL Coach – part time

Minimum USSA Level 100 Coach or equivalent

YSL is an active program for both athletes interested in transitioning to age-class and those that prefer to continue racing within in the Youth Ski League. YSL is designed for athletes that want more coaching, contact days, and exposure to alpine competition. It is designed to improve fundamental skiing skills and improve tactical understanding. A YSL Coach will be expected to coach athletic, physical, tactical and mental aspects of ski racing and team participation with an emphasis on SL, GS, and Skillsquest. The YSL Coach has the ability to establish a life-long connection to the excitement and fun of alpine racing.  The YSL coach can develop the athlete’s ability to excel at SSCV. With an emphasis on learning, improving and succeeding in the opportunities that YSL provides, long term athletic involvement in SSCV programs. Personal ability to conduct oneself in a professional, nurturing manner is crucial to be successful in this role.

Future Stars (FS) is the first impression of SSCV for athletes and families. It begins the foundation for helping kids find a strong fit within the SSCV programs & culture. The FS Coach has the ability to establish a life-long connection to the spirit of SSCV and set the tone for potential long term athletic involvement in SSCV programs. Personal ability to conduct oneself in a professional, nurturing manner is crucial to be successful in this role.
