Part-Time Seasonal RSES/SSCV Cooperative Program Coordinator – Ski & Snowboard Club Vail

Ski & Snowboard Club Vail is seeking a Red Sandstone Elementary School/Ski & Snowboard Club Vail Cooperative Program Coordinator to support Red Sandstone Elementary School (RSES) students (typically 3rd – 5th graders) who are also full-time four day per week snowsports athletes at Ski & Snowboard Club Vail.  The Coordinator reports to the Advancement Manager at Ski & Snowboard Club Vail.  The Coordinator will be the day-to-day liaison between SSCV coaches, SSCV administrators, RSES teachers and RSES/SSCV Cooperative Program parents and athletes to assure that the Wednesday and Friday training midweek training session and after training study halls run smoothly to assure RSES student athletes are successful both academically and athletically.   The position includes in person duties on Wednesday and Friday afternoons when RSES is in session from early to mid-November through mid to late April from approximately 11:30 am to 1:15 pm and 3:00 pm to 5:45 pm along with an additional 8-10 hours per week which may be accomplished remotely for other responsibilities of the position, including –

weekly gathering of information from SSCV coaches and communicating to parents and RSES staff the week’s training plan, gathering after training study hall  homework from RSES teachers and reviewing this homework on Wednesday and Friday afternoons in advance of the after training study hall in order to know what work each child needs to accomplish during that study hall, updating the RSES/SSCV tracking spreadsheet on an ongoing basis, tracking attendance, writing monthly program reports, ongoing  collaboration with SSCV Advancement Manager and such other duties as the SSCV Advancement Manager may assign.

The candidate must be a strong in person, phone and email communicator and have the skill set needed to manage and support elementary school students in a variety of settings through a variety of transitions including lunch/packing for training at RSES, traveling via public transportation to the SSCV Clubhouse for training and supervising an after training study hall.

A college degree and experience using gmail and google drive are required.  Experience working with children in an academic, daycare, coaching or camp setting is a strong plus.  Contact SSCV Advancement Manager Gwen Dougherty for more details at gdougherty@skiclubvail.org.

SSCV Freeski Weekend Coaches

SSCV Freeride program seeks weekend coaches.  One or two day per week positions available.  Working with kids ages 7-12. Taking them skiing all over Vail mountain and teaching them fundamental skiing skills. Free ski pass and gym membership.  Coaching experience is preferred but not necessary.  Must have a positive attitude, enjoy working with kids, and must be an advanced skier. SSCV Age Class Prep, Junior, Future Stars & U14/U16 Part-Time Seasonal Coaches

Ski & Snowboard Club Vail is seeking Age Class Prep, Junior, Future Stars and U14/U16 Part-Time seasonal coaches for our 2022-2023 part-time and weekend programs.We are looking for enthusiastic coaches to join our current dedicated staff. Individuals with a love of the sport, strong skiing skills, positive attitude, strong work ethic, desire to learn, and who enjoy teaching young athletes are a must! Compensation is based on experience, and an alpine ski coaching, ski instructing, or ski racing background preferred, but not required for the right individual. Along with a competitive wage, coaches receive a ski pass, and other SSCV employee benefits.
