Giving Opportunities and Ways to Give

Giving Opportunities

2020-2021 Annual Campaign

Every year SSCV raises a perccentage of its operating budget through the Annual Campaign.  For the 2020-2021 season SSCV is raising approximately 9.2% of its operating budget through the Annual Campaign, which amounts to $600,000. Through the generosity of our Annual Campaign donors SSCV is able to provide the level of quality commensurate to the needs and goals of all our athletes so they can become the best they can be.  The costs of running a program include the following, to name a few:  supporting an exceptional coaching staff, on snow safety measures including radios, netting and padding, professional fees, continuing education, Gold Peak and Nordic grooming expenses, financial aid, van usage and maintenance, insurance, trampoline center costs, building maintenance, administrative infrastructure and support to run day to day business operations and Minturn Fitness Center facility support.

We are striving for 100% participation in the Annual Campaign from all members so please consider donating at a level that is personally meaningful to you.  Click here for Annual Campaign giving levels, donor recognition and fulfillment items.  Please contact SSCV Director of Advancement Sharon Schmidt at sschmidt@skiclubvail.org or 970-790-5161 for more information on the Annual Campaign.

Coach and Staff Payroll Deduction

To sign up or change your payroll-deduction gift to SSCV, please contact Tiffany Hoversten, CFO/Business Manager at thoversten@skiclubvail.org or (970) 790-5127.

IRA Charitable Rollover

Are you 70 1/2 years of age or older? If so the IRA Charitable Rollover is a tax-smart and increasingly popular way of supporting SSCV. This permanent provision of the tax code allows you to transfer all or a portion of required minimum distribution (RMD) directly to SSCV. A charitable rollover of IRA funds to SSCV will not count as taxable income in the year you make your gift, which may keep you in a lower tax bracket. Your gift to SSCV counts toward your RMD. And you save taxes whether you claim the standard deduction or itemize.

Stocks and Securities

Giving publicly traded securities is an easy, tax-savvy way to support SSCV. When you give stocks, bonds, or mutual fund shares that you have held for a year or longer, the IRS allows you to make your gift without recognizing capital gains on the appreciation. For more information, please contact SSCV Director of Advancement Sharon Schmidt at 970-790-5161 or sschmidt@skiclubvail.org.
