VAIL, Colo. — Vail Mountain School and Ski & Snowboard Club Vail are pleased to present: PACT: Parents And Coaches Working Together to support aspiring athletes, a public event.

Hosted by John O’Sullivan, international bestselling author and founder of Changing the Game Project, the event, which is scheduled for Monday at 6 p.m. at Vail Mountain School, will help educate parents and coaches to work together and better support young athletes.

The most influential adults in an athlete’s life, outside immediate family, are often their sports coaches. Yet far too often, coaches and parents do not partner to support athletic and personal development in and out of competition, resulting in mixed messages for athletes, and less than optimal development.

• How to set goals and manage expectations with your athletes
• To have patience and realize that every athlete has a different has a different path
• The importance of working with your coach
• How to work with coaches to push your child to excel

O’Sullivan is the founder of the Changing the Game Project, and author of the international bestseller Changing the Game: The Parents Guide to Raising Happy, High Performing Athletes, and Giving Youth Sports Back to our Kids.

He sits on the National Advisory Board for the Positive Coaching Alliance and the National Association of Physical Literacy. He has nearly 3 decades of playing and coaching experience in youth, high school, college and professional soccer, and consults with organizations such as U.S. Youth Soccer, USA Football, U.S. Lacrosse, and other sports organizations across the U.S., Canada and Europe.
