Vail, Colo. April 6, 2022 –  Deep in the West in Big Sky, Montana, young snowboard and freeski athletes gathered to compete in the IFSA U12 Junior National Championships. SSCV made their mark on Big Sky during the day of competition.

The IFSA U12 (2011- 2010 birth year, ages 11-12) Junior National Championships in Big Sky, Montana is an invite event for top skiers and snowboarders in the U12 age category. The competition consisted of a U12 qualifier on April 4th. The April 5th U12 finals was canceled due to weather conditions, leaving the April 4th event as the final score.

SSCV had one athlete in this competition, Ziva Levy, as a U12 Girls Snowboarder who did not disappoint. Levy secured a third place overall, taking Girl’s Snowboard third overall at the IFSA U12 Junior National Championships.

“Ziva represented Ski and Snowboard Club Vail’s Core Values of Character, Courage, and Commitment in Big Sky at the IFSA North American U12 Junior Freeride Championship,” said Seth Levy, Ziva’s coach through the IFSA events. “Her display of character was on display helping a fellow competitor access the venue made difficult by ice, courage by being the youngest competitor by three years, and commitment by continuing on in bitter wind and cold. We are so proud of her for showing IFSA what Ski & Snowboard Club Vail is all about.”
