The Millennium Bank Colorado Junior Ski Cup Championships had slalom racing on the docket at Winter Park Saturday, and Ski & Snowboard Club Vail’s Greta Byrne notched her third win in three days, taking first by a whopping 3.17 seconds.

“Greta is skiing the way she can,” said coach Nick Asoian.  “She is relaxed and having fun.”

Cannon O’Brien took the top spot for Ski & Snowboard Club Vail with his sixth place finish, while Christoph Niederhauser skied to ninth place with the fastest second run by almost one second.

“Niederhauser got caught up on his edge in the first run, which slowed him considerably,” said Asoian.  “He skied his second run like he had nothing to lose; it was flawless.”

Sean McCormick took 11th, Colin Hayes finished third for the J2 men and 14th overall, and Zachary Ziolkowski skied to a fourth for the J2 men and 15th overall.

“All the SSCV guys are skiing solid, with minimal mistakes,” said Asoian.

The Millennium Bank Colorado Junior Ski Cup Championships continue Sunday, 3/20, with another slalom for the men and women.
