Despite the cold temperatures and persistent snow, Wednesday’s Vail Summit Orthopaedics Nordic Town Series was a great success.

Ski & Snowboard Club Vail Freestyle Program athletes are enjoying growth and personal bests on and off snow.

This past Sunday, January 31, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail hosted a Steadman Clinic Vail Cup Giant Slalom and Moguls competition for athletes birth year 2000 and younger.

Character, Courage and Commitment are our core values. In this post I want to highlight commitment. Why commitment? During the middle of anything: the season, the school year, a work project...etc, it is normal to have ups and downs, peaks and valleys.

As the Vail Valley’s oldest non-profit, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) has developed many traditions over its 53-year history.

The Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) Nordic Program is off to a great start with multiple podiums at its first Junior National Qualifier in Crested Butte, a National Champion, personal bests and first time experiences for junior athletes at US Cross Country Championships, a successful High School Race at Maloit Park and two well attended Vail Summit Orthopaedics Nordic Town Races for community members of all ages.

On Sunday Golden Peak’s park played host to a United States of America Snowboard and Freeski Association Rocky Mountain Series skier slopestyle competition. Ski & Snowboard Club Vail freeski athletes had their chance to compete on home turf at Sunday’s competition.

Wednesday's Vail Summit Orthopaedics Town Series was off to a great "start" with a large field of lower and middle school participants in the first race of the evening followed by the high schoolers and adults.  It's not too late to take part in the February 3 and March 19 races.

Getting Started and Olympic Dreams When asked, I always recommend that parents enroll their children in Ski & Snowboard Club Vail’s (SSCV) season long Future Stars weekend program at the youngest possible age of six (assuming they can get on and off the lift by themselves and ski or ride Golden Peak).
