On the heels of the Men’s and Ladies’ World Cups, comes the FIS Alpine NorAm Cup sponsored by MacDermid and hosted by Ski  & Snowboard Club Vail.  The event takes place on December 15-20 and consists of two men’s and ladies’ giant slalom and slalom competitions at Golden Peak.

The FIS Alpine NorAm Cup is the gateway to the World Cup, with discipline and overall winners from the winter-long series earning a coveted World Cup start next year for their efforts.   The top alpine racers from North America qualify to participate in the NorAm Cup races each season based on a limited quota from each country.  Lindsey Vonn, Mikaela Shiffrin, Bode Miller, Ted Ligety and Julia Mancuso are among the athletes who have challenged the best ski racers from across the globe in these NorAm Cups.   A number of Ski & Snowboard Club Vail current and alumni athletes will race in the NorAm Cup here in Vail this month.

The NorAm Cup requires an enormous number of volunteers to build and maintain a competition venue for this caliber event.  Please consider volunteering for the positions listed below.  This is a great opportunity for current SSCV families to earn volunteer points.  If you have questions, please e-mail Euginnia Manseau at emanseau@skiclubvail.org.
