The NorAm MacDermid Cup resumed Monday, 2/6, with a giant slalom race for the men, and Ski & Snowboard Club Vail alum and U.S. Ski Team member Will Gregorak came away with the win.
Gregorak was sitting in second after the first run, just .29 seconds away from Canada’s Jean-Philipe Roy.
“I knew if I was more aggressive on my second run, I could catch J.P.,” said Gregorak.
Gregorak charged the hill on his second run with enough fire to secure his spot at the top of the podium.
“I know this hill better than anyone,” Gregorak said. “So if there was a day I was going to win, it was going to be today.”
SSCV’s Charles Christianson took his two runs of GS to a tenth place for the day.
The NorAm MacDermid Cup concludes today, 2/7, with another GS race on Golden Peak for the men.
