One Season’s End is Another’s Beginning
As the 2015-2016 winter competition season draws to a close Ski & Snowboard Club Vail athletes spend little time reminiscing about the season. It is not for lack of things to reminisce about—a major breakthrough in their skiing or riding, a personal best, new tricks brought to snow, college acceptances received, new friendships made, a successful transition to a new age class group, academic achievements, setbacks overcome, and the list goes on. It is simply that so many of our athletes are already focused on next season.

Watching Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) athletes finish out the competition season with the same consistent display of character, courage and commitment they brought into the season five months ago is very rewarding.
Press Release – GS Spectacular races in Vail and Beaver Creek truly spectacular – April 5, 2016
It was a huge weekend for United States Ski & Snowboard Association alpine age class racing in the Vail Valley. On Saturday April 2 and Sunday April 3, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail hosted over 570 athletes in the “GS Spectacular” at Vail’s Golden Peak and Beaver Creek’s Bear Trap race venues.
Competition season continues
Competition season continues at Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV). Among them, the United States Alpine Championships took place this past week in Sun Valley, Idaho and an International Freeskiers and Snowboarders Association’s (IFSA) Rocky Mountain Big Mountain Regional Series competition hosted by SSCV took place in Vail.

Alpine Championship Season
Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (SSCV) ski racers are in the midst of championship season. It has been an action packed week for our alpine athletes with the United States Ski and Snowboard Association (USSA) sanctioned U16 Rocky / Central Junior Championships for 2000 and 2001 birth years at Golden Peak, U14 Rocky / Central Junior Championships for 2002 and 2003 birth years in Winter Park and U12 Rocky Mountain Division Championships for 2004 and 2005 birth years at Powderhorn Mountain.

March 20 was the second day of the NorAm Cup Finals at Golden Peak hosted by Ski & Snowboard Club Vail. A men’s and a women’s slalom race took place that day under blue bird skies.

March 19 was the first day of the NorAm Cup Finals hosted by Ski & Snowboard Club Vail at Golden Peak. A women's giant slalom race took place on Saturday under picture perfect skies. NorAm Cup Finals competitors consist many of the top alpine racers in North America and additional foreign athletes who have qualified to compete.
