At the NorAm conclusion in Kimberly, British Columbia, 2018 Olympian Mark Engel won the two slalom races and took the NorAm slalom title. Meanwhile, SSCV alumnus River Radamus finished second in the slalom standings and will get the second World Cup slalom spot next season.

Radamus has not found the podium yet this week in Kimberly, but he has now nabbed a World Cup spot for next year and he has compiled a significant lead in the overall standings.

“I don’t think anybody would have predicted at he beginning of the season that I’d be walking away with a slalom World Cup spot, you know, but I am really proud of the work I put in this season and really humbled to see it pay off like this,” Radamus said.

Radamus, who just turned 20, started the season with bib numbers ranging in the 50s and 60s, yet soon enough he found himself in the seed of all events.
