New this winter, SSCV is excited to announce a lineup of mini alpine ski camps, open to the public. These camps, which will take place from November to February, can be used in conjunction with the club’s regular alpine programming for part-time athletes or can serve as an introduction for aspiring alpine racers.

“By opening these camps to the public for the first time, we’re hoping to provide aspiring athletes who are interested in getting involved in alpine ski racing a more in-depth and tailored ‘Try the Club’ experience,” said SSCV Youth Alpine Program Director Alissa Consenstein. “With all the enhancements made to SSCV’s youth alpine programs in recent years, now is a great time for young athletes to get involved, and these camps will provide a world-class experience for both current and future SSCV athletes.”

The goal of these camps is to provide a fun learning environment where athletes can develop alpine ski racing skills while training on SSCV’s world-class venues. These mini camps are open to all athletes 7-13 years old.

Alpine Mini-Race Camps

Vail & Beaver Creek Resorts

Camp Goals & Training:  For the first time, Ski and Snowboard Club Vail is implementing 3 in-house “Alpine Mini-Race Camps” throughout the ski season.  This is another reason how SSCV is setting the standards high, and leading the way in alpine racing. These camps are designed for athletes within, or outside, of SSCV.  The goal is to provide a FUN learning environment of freeskiing, skills, and gate training for each camp. This unique opportunity to train on two World-Class venues, Golden Peak at Vail, and Beaver Creek resort, makes these camps an incredible opportunity for any athlete.  For those who want to get an early ‘jump start’ on their season, training will be on the Golden Peak arena, which is also a premier training site for many National teams around the world, and boasts a “new training venue” with state of the art snowmaking.

Target Age Group:  7-13 year old athletes (U8-U14), it is preferred athletes have a U.S. Ski and Snowboard license, but not required.

Staff: Anje Worrell – Camp leader, current YSL Head Coach-former U.S. Ski and Snowboard R/C Youth Coach, along with Alissa Consenstein – Alpine Youth Head Coach, Simon Marsh – U10 Head Coach, Pam Peterson – Future Stars Head Coach, and other experienced coaches TBA.
