The women skied slalom while the men raced giant slalom on the second day of the Prater Cup at Crested Butte, and, while the soft snow made for a bumpy track in both disciplines, SSCV’s men and women turned it on for another great day at the races.

The opening GS run for the men had Jack Keane and Colby Lange take the top two steps of the podium by placing first and second.   Also working their way onto the first page of results (top 15) were Luke Vickerman, Brendan Keane, Ryan Collins, Riley Kilgore, and Chadwick Mulligan taking fifth, eighth, 13th, 14th, and 15th, respectively.

Nellie Talbot placed fifth and Dylan Fiore took 13th in the morning slalom for the women.

Talbot took fifth again in the P.M. slalom run with Jessica McMurtry in sixth, Haily Norvell, ninth, and Paula Cooper taking 11th.

“The girls skied well with the soft snow today,” said coach Robin Chace.  “But Jessica McMurtry and Dylan Fiore really stepped it up today with great finishes for them.”

The afternoon GS for the men saw SSCV’s Colby Lange, Brendan Keane, and Jack Keane sweep the podium, taking first, second, and third, respectively.

“It was a super rough course, but it was a lot of fun,” said Lange.  “It’s really fun for our team when we all do this well.”

Also making their mark by cracking into the top 15 were Colin Suzynski in ninth, Jacob Dilling, 11th, and Luke Vickerman and Paul Cuthbertson tying for 15th.
