Following a season of competing against the best skiers in the Rocky Mountain Division (RMD) of USSA, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail came away with the Surefoot Colorado Ski Cup title, with SSCV claiming the top spot for the women for the second time in two years.

“This title shows strength and depth for the RMD region,” said SSCV’s alpine program director Dan Stripp.  “I am very happy our women have won this title for two years in a row.”

Erika Ghent, an SSCV alumna and CU skier, took first place overall for the women’s Surefoot tour while SSCV’s Paula Moltzan finished the season in second and Kaytlyn Samuelson took third.  Anne Strong and her sister Elizabeth finished sixth and 15th, respectively.

“Our women had strength and depth this season,” said Stripp.  “I am very proud of how they skied this year.  We will be losing a few of our talented skiers next year, but I will be looking for our younger skiers to step up and ski strong next season.”

For SSCV’s men, Sean McCormick and Cannon O’Brien finished 12th and 14th, respectively, in the overall standings on the Surefoot tour.
