Osi Inglin will join Ski & Snowboard Club Vail on July 1, 2016 as Head Alpine FIS Coach overseeing the entire Alpine FIS program along with coaching responsibility for the FIS women. Not only does Inglin have over twenty years of international coaching experience coaching from the development to the World Cup level, but he has also coached in the United States, having served as Head Women’s Coach at Green Mountain Valley School previously.
Inglin has coached some of the top alpine racers in the world (both men and women) over the course of his career, including Sonja Nef, Didier Cuche, Didier Defago and Mike Von Gruenigen. Most recently Inglin worked with the Swiss Men’s C Team, where Marco Odermatt won the 2016 FIS Junior World Ski Championship Giant Slalom title and Odermatt (1997) and teammate Loic Meillard (1996) are currently ranked first in the world in their respective birth year in giant slalom.
Karen Ghent, SSCV Alpine Program Director, stated, “I am thrilled to have Osi join our alpine staff. With the growth in our U19 athlete group it is the ideal time for the organization to bring on a head FIS coach to oversee the entire FIS program.”
Ghent continued, “Osi brings years of experience managing and developing world-class athletes to SSCV’s FIS program in support of an already strong coaching staff and a very talented group of FIS level athletes. I look forward to Osi coming on board this summer.”
Inglin stated, “I am really excited to join the Ski & Snowboard Club Vail FIS alpine program for the coming years. It is a big challenge for me to bring these young and talented athletes to their highest level. It’s very important to me that the entire FIS staff is working together closely to push the program forward.”
Ski & Snowboard Club Vail, the Vail Valley’s oldest non-profit organization, was founded in 1962 to provide training and competition programs for aspiring young ski racers and has continued to evolve since its inception.
