The NorAm MacDermid Cup resumed on Friday 2/3, with the second giant slalom in as many days, and Ski & Snowboard Club Vail’s U.S. Team member, Abby Ghent, skied to first for the junior women, and fifth overall.

Ghent, who took second in Thursday’s GS, stopped the clock in Friday’s race with a 2:08.55.

“It’s so nice to have a race on the home mountain,” said Ghent.  “It’s comfortable, I know everyone here, and it helps take away the element of being nervous.  And the hill here is in great shape.”

Erika Ghent, SSCV alum skiing for CU, and Abby’s older sister, took fourth in Friday’s race. Resi Stiegler, U.S. Team skier, took her second win in as many days.

The NorAm MacDermid Cup continues today, 2/4, with slalom racing for the men and women at Golden Peak.
