Ski and Snowboard Club Vail’s Greta Byrne raced to another convincing giant slalom victory Friday in the Millennium Bank Colorado Junior Ski Cup Championships at Winter Park.

“I was relaxed, “ said Byrne.  “And it was easy for me to ski well today.”

Byrne won the race by over 2.5 seconds.

Cannon O’Brien skied to a third place Friday for the SSCV men, moving up a spot from Thursday’s fourth place finish.

Sean McCormick took fifth while Christoph Niederhauser, Colin Hayes, and Zachary Ziolkowski finished 12th, 13th, and 15th, respectively.

“We had to clear a lot of snow from the course before the race,” said coach Nick Foster.  “And the team skied well in tough conditions.”

The Millennium Bank Colorado Junior Ski Cup Championships resume Saturday, 3/19, with the men and women racing slalom at Winter Park.
