A big powder dump did not stop the Women’s Giant Slalom race from taking place at Golden Peak on Wednesday, March 16 at the USSA U16 Rocky Central Junior Championships.  Many thanks to the Vail Race Crew and Cat Crew along with parent volunteers and coaches for making this race run so smoothly.  Top 10 for the Women’s Giant Slalom are named below.

For the women, in the top row, first place went to Hannah Soria of Steamboat Springs Winter Sports Club (middle), second place went place to Cleo Braun of Ski & Snowboard Club Vail (left) and third place went to Sarah Rowe of the National Training Group (right).   In the bottom row, from right to left are Taylor Brandt (4th from Ski & Snowboard Club Vail), Allie Resnick (5th from Ski & Snowboard Club Vail) Gretchen Pavelich (6th from Ski & Snowboard Club Vail), Michaela Strizencova (7th from Ski & Snowboard Club Vail), Caroline Jones (8th from Ski & Snowboard Club Vail) and Tegan Wold (9th from Ski & Snowboard Club Vail).  Not pictured is Isabella Johansson who took 10th from Aspen Valley Ski Club.  Anna Deubel won the Women’s “Bibbo” Award for the Giant Slalom moving up the furthest of any other racer that day from her initial starting position of 88 to a final 46th place finish.
