Ski & Snowboard Club Vail’s Snowboard Program is in for an exciting end of season. With the Burton US Open in town this week watch for SSCV full-time athlete and Vail Ski & Snowboard Academy 8th grader Jack Coyne who qualified to compete in the return of the Burton US Open Junior Jam Halfpipe Competition

Ski & Snowboard Club Vail hosts collegiate Alpine and Nordic Events. This past Friday and Saturday, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail hosted the University of Denver NCAA Western Regional Championships in Nordic skiing and alpine racing.

Since mid-February, many Ski & Snowboard Club Vail Freestyle athletes have been traveling throughout North America earning top podium spots in the NorAm circuit.

Gracie Shanley (left) and Bridget Donovan (right) of Ski & Snowboard Club Vail took 1st and 2nd in the girls 14 and 15 year-old classic sprint on Friday, January 29 at the Soldier Hollow Super Qualifier in Utah amidst a very competitive field of Nordic athletes from throughout the western United States.

The lessons your child will learn both on and off the hill through the vehicle of a competitive snow sport can create life-changing opportunities.

This past Sunday’s Head Rebel Youth Ski League Kombi event hosted by Ski & Snowboard Club Vail provided tons of fun for alpine racers ranging in age from 8 through 15. Competitors raced down Vail Mountain’s Black Forest, which included a series of small jumps and undulating terrain with multiple stubby slalom and giant slalom gates.

This past Thursday, February 18, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail hosted the fifth of the six-part Vail Summit Orthopaedics Alpine Town Series at Vail Mountain.

Ski & Snowboard Club Vail’s athletes are in the thick of the competition season.  From the six year-old competing in the complimentary Steadman Clinic Vail Cup to senior athletes striving to qualify for national or collegiate team status, athletes are working hard to be a little bit better every day than they were the day before.

Plenty of air was caught and fun was had at this past Sunday's complimentary Steadman Clinic Vail Cup hosted by Ski & Snowboard Club Vail.   Athletes birth year 2000 and younger competed in slopestyle and halfpipe.

This past Thursday, February 11, Ski & Snowboard Club Vail hosted the fourth of the six-part Vail Summit Orthopaedics Alpine Town Series on Golden Peak.

The Ski & Snowboard Club Vail Nordic Team has much to celebrate as a result of performances over the past several weeks.

One of Ski & Snowboard Club Vail’s (SSCV) key initiatives over my time with the organization has been providing opportunities for children to fulfill their snow sports dreams regardless of financial means. In the past nine years over $1.3 million in financial aid has been awarded to SSCV athletes. In the current season SSCV will award over $230,000 in financial aid to more than 120 youngsters covering up to 75% of SSCV program fees, more than a tenfold increase in financial aid from the $20,000 awarded annually in the recent past.

Ski & Snowboard Club Vail hosted a Rocky Mountain Freestyle Mogul event on Cookshack this past weekend, on February 6 and 7.
