Freeski Park & Pipe Part-Time Program

FREESKI PARK & PIPE WEEKEND TEAM  (Ages 13-18)

Overall this team is designed for athletes that love the terrain park environment. These athletes want to specifically focus on park, rails, halfpipe and competitions. A successful participant in this program comes with strong ski skills and a passion for park & pipe or is moving up from our Rookie Team. This athlete is able to ski the hardest trails, can already hit features in the terrain park and has had a taste of competing. Having the ability to jump in the terrain park is a plus, but we can coach you in this area to improve. This skier has an aggressive athletic mindset and is looking forward to competing. The athletes on this team will often ski and train with the athletes on our other park & pipe teams, such as our full-time age appropriate teams.

Freeski Park & Pipe Full-Time Programs

FREESKI PARK & PIPE FULL-TIME HIGH SCHOOL (Grades 9-12)

The Freeski Park & Pipe Full-Time High School program is for high school athletes that are ready to commit and want to achieve their highest potential in skiing. This group will have more specialized training geared toward the slopestyle and halfpipe aspects. However, programming for this team will be age/skill appropriate and have a broad focus encompassing everything from all mountain skiing, jumps, rails, and halfpipe training with core focus to terrain park skills. These teams will compete in local USASA events, Futures Tour, Revolution Tour, and World Cup level events. Furthermore, we have the top terrain parks in the world in our backyard which creates a top level environment for our athletes to train. There is also off-snow training where we use super tramps, foam pit, pumptrack, and dryland conditioning with our trainers.

We will focus on air awareness skills and basic acrobatics on the trampoline while offering high level coaching for doubles and triples in a safe learning environment. As always, fun will be involved and team camaraderie and sportsmanship will be incorporated daily. The athlete will be held to a high standard of character, courage and commitment.

Participation Criteria: strong skiing ability, comfortable performing tricks on medium terrain features and able to hit large terrain park features; some competition experience needed

FREESKI PARK & PIPE FULL-TIME MIDDLE SCHOOL (Grades 5-8)

The Freeski Park & Pipe Full-Time Middle School program is designed for freeskiers in grades 5 through 8 who already have a solid foundation of competition experience to help them to be the best they can be. Top-end coaches utilize the most progressive techniques to achieve results at the next level in park and pipe. We believe in building a solid foundation of fundamental freeskiing and using that foundation to help athletes challenge themselves every day. We do this by establishing positive relationships, providing individual support and creating a safe and fun environment to push boundaries. This team has a main focus on Slopestyle and Halfpipe skills. Furthermore, it’s a great way to build on a younger athlete’s current skills and learn new tricks in all park and pipe aspects. They will compete in local USASA events and possibly Futures Tour events. Building a great fundamental base in our athletes is key to becoming a high level athlete in the future.

Participation Criteria: strong skiing ability, comfortable performing tricks on medium terrain features and able to hit medium terrain park features; some competition experience needed

FREESKI PARK & PIPE POST GRAD TEAM

The Freeski Park & Pipe Post Grad Team is for post grad athletes committed to training with our team. Whether they are nominated to a national team or still competing at a high level, we can ensure quality training during the regular season with the SSCV Freeski Park & Pipe Full-Time High School team and coaching at competitions that SSCV coaches are otherwise at with the SSCV Freeski Park & Pipe Full-Time High School team members.
