Age Class Prep | YOB 2013-2018
Age Class Prep (ACP) team strives to provide a confidence-building team environment, while still focusing on an athlete’s individual skill progression. The program spans ages U8 to U12 (2013-2018), and emphasizes skill development through all-mountain free skiing, drills, and gated training environments, along with introducing athletes to alpine racing in the RMD Youth Ski League race series.
The program aims to help athletes develop a love of the sport, and teach basic fundamentals necessary for long term athlete development. The SSCV alpine ski racing pipeline allows athletes to develop a strong skiing technical foundation. These building blocks equip every individual skier to realize their potential in the sport if they so choose. Click here for details on SSCV’s Alpine Program pipeline.
Requirements for our youngest athletes (ages 6+) coming into Age Class Prep: strong skiing skills including the ability to comfortably ski blue+ terrain, while carving parallel turns. Athletes must be independent, be able to load and ride a chairlift and T-bar, and be responsible for their own equipment, especially putting on, taking off and carrying their own skis. Approval and/or recommendation from the previous season in the Future Stars program or approval from Head Coaches.
A USSS alpine competitive membership is required to race in the Rocky Mountain Division (RMD) Youth Ski League (YSL) events.
