Freeski Rookie Teams (1, 2 or 3 day) | Ages 7-12

The SSCV Rookie Team has one, two and three day options. This program is designed to provide young rookie athletes with an introduction to the park & pipe and/or all-mountain freeskiing. Coaches will focus on a variety of skiing skills, with particular attention being dedicated to fundamentals such as carving, jumping, body and air awareness, and park & pipe skill development. Depending on the day, we could head out to tackle the whole mountain for skiing, stop at natural and manmade terrain features, delve into the park & pipe environment, and/or bump down some moguls. We will also have an off-snow evening at our trampoline facility one night per week.

Freeski Rookie Team 1 Day – Saturday: This is a Saturday program plus some bonus days (see below under More Program Information). We will focus developing a well-rounded skier, foster competition exposure, provide access to our trampoline facilities and have lots of fun. Many athletes in this program attend various local competitions, get the spark and then move up to a two or three day program.

Freeski Rookie Team 2 Day – Saturday and Sunday: This is a Saturday and Sunday program plus some bonus days (see below under More Program Information). Often athletes choose this two-day option for their second year with the SSCV Rookie Team. We will focus on developing a well-rounded skier and encourage competition at USASA Rocky Mountain Series or the IFSA regional competitions. We will provide access to our trampoline facilities and have a ton of fun!

Freeski Rookie Team 3 Day – Friday afternoon, Saturday and Sunday: This is the Saturday and Sunday program plus Friday afternoon and some bonus days (see below under More Program Information). We will continue to focus on developing a well-rounded skier and specific skills development. This program is designed for younger athletes hoping to bring their skills to the next level and is a great pipeline to the full-time 4 day a week and full-time middle school programs. We will provide access to our trampoline facilities and have a ton of fun!
